Fix your Wilderness Systems Airpro seat

Post by Fargo »

The latest seat Wilderness Systems has been using is a pretty comfortable seat. They have a high and a low model. Unfortunately they have a "feature" that makes the bottom support piece come loose from the frame. At some point the seat becomes floppy. It still works and I don't think it hurts anything using it that way but it is less comfortable.

It was too hard to post directly on TKF because of the picture and formatting limitations but here is the gist of what you need to do. If you would like more detailed information I did a write-up with a bunch of pictures here http://thechristys.net/?p=1423

Hope this helps some fellow kayakers. Thanks to Andy at the Spring ACK for the tips

Thanks for the tip. I just picked up a new Ride 135 from the Spring ACK on Wednesday, so I will have to keep this thread in mind as I put some miles on it.

Those plastic fender trees are junk

I had to do that on my low seat couple months back. Nice pics and description.

My solution for my Ride 135 Elevated seat. $28 all in. Super comfortable.

Yep. I had those plastic tabs break right away. Installed real rivets and no problems since.

Thanks guys.
I get so much from other people's posts on the internet on how to do something or how it works that I just want to try to contribute as well. The first time I went out after the repair I was surprised what a difference it made. I guess it was broken so long I just got used to it.
