Thanks all! Wasn't sure how deep I would be driving the pole into the mud.

Stake out Pole size
Hello,
I'm looking to get a stake out Pole for my Tarpon 140. I'm torn between the 6' and 8'. I usually fish in 3'-4'.... sometimes 5' of water. Bottom is almost always mud but occasionally sand. Any suggestions or advice?

Camping light house lakes
Anyone know if you're able to camp or any sites to camp around the light house lakes? Want to make a trip out there and camp out as well if possible.

Re: RE: Re: Kayak Crate
I don't know if you have rod holders on your crate, but I've found that I really like my Yak Gear holders. There are slots for pliers and holes for holding lures when you change out. For my anchor I usually leave it clipped onto the trolley and hanging off the side of the crate ready to deploy. Thi...

Kayak Crate
I was wondering if you all have any hacks when it comes to organizing your kayak crate? After every trip mine is trashed and unorganized. I was trying to find a way to store my anchor, stringer, tools, tackle boxes etc without it looking like it exploded after every trip Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G935...

Re: Anchors
I've always considered a stake out stick but always been hesitant. How well do they hold? I usually fish open bays mud/sand and wind can usually kick up quick

Anchors
I'm sure it's been asked. I'm needing a new anchor for a second kayak. I currently use 3# grapple anchor on my kayak but wanted to see what everyone else uses

Bought mine from ACK and installed myself. I was hesitant at first about the drilling but I've had mine on for 5+ years and have had no issues so far

I hope not. I'm just finding my grove after an absence. That was looking great! Nice and clear! Hopefully the fishing stays hot!AcousticTennis wrote:Thought the water turned nice again then I read..."last weekend". Gunna get tough out there again with the winds. Was fun while it lasted lol.

Re: Lucy the fish slayer
My little cocker spaniel would NOT be so well mannered in a yak. She's way too much of a spaz...and she keeps attacking my fly tying buck tails I was a little hesitant at first because she'd never been on my kayak so it coukd have been a short trip, but she did surprisingly well. Other than her int...

Re: Lucy the fish slayer
No sorry. We were out in Baffin Bay! Just noticed you're in Corpus. We passed another weiner dog that looked absolutely terrified. I was thinking your pup made a nice transition but she looks as comfortable as my cocker. She had a blast. She was entertained the whole trip and wasn't much of a fusser.

Went out last weekend for the first time with the new fishing partner. We both had a blast with a limit of trout.

Good idea. I'd be worried about it sticking well and then measuring a fish so close to the edge of the yak. One good flop and it's overboard

I'm right handed and have mine installed on the starboard side. I usually cast straight out or to my port side so more convenient having on the starboard side

Re: Anchor?
I use my anchor trolley from ACK and have had it on for a while. Use it all.the time and very handy in positioning yourself to spots and the wind. I use a float on my line too. I've gotten lures stuck on rocks and have to release my anchor to retrieve them, then come right back and hook up to the an...
