I thought it was interesting as I have never seen a visual of one. Many of us see these along the beach all the time, but never realize its potential. Like someone said, it looks like a great spot to put in, and I'm sure there have been people who have made that decision. Any word on the 4th weekend...

Can someone explain the advantages/disadvantages of a split grip rod? I noticed that my favorite rod (all cork handle) is discontinued, only to be replaced by a similar one with a split grip. I have heard mixed opinions, so I thought I'd ask in the only place I get real answers.

There used to be a Shimano reel maintenance kit (oil, grease, tools, extra parts) you could buy in the stores, but I cant seem to find it anymore. Does anyone know where I can pick one up? I know I can piece everything together, but I rather not deal with all that.
