red storm

Post by redfloat »

went solo today (7-15-07,8:00am) to salt lake, paddled out to the mouth of nick's lake , when the storm hit, water was too rough , and wind too strong to stay on the water, had to paddle inland and waited out the storm.
two hours later I was able to relaunch. (the umbrella I always try to carry finally paid off). the water was tea in color, and warmer that the air,
the tide was low and weak. set out two poles , one on bottom, other on popping cork, both with live finger mullet.
first hit was quick, 27" red, second hit almost got spooled 29" red.
also landed two gafftops, one 4lbs other 3lbs , all caught on bottom,
no hits on top. soaking wet, muddy, cold and a smile on my face headed home. :)
