mitchell's cut

Post by sooner89 »

i am looking at getting a kayak with a trolling motor to fish Mitchell's Cutt and far East end of East Matty. First question: Can i launch in Mitchell's Cut at the north end and get to East Matty or is the cuurent too bad in the cut? Second question: Is this a good ace to fish from a kayak?

thanks for any help

Why not just launch at east Matty?

I have launched at the end of Chiquapin (not sure of spelling) road good area to fish on the east end of E. Matty. The road did suck though

Thanks for the comments. I am looking to fish the Caney Creek, Mitchell's cut area. I want to put in closer to the cut or possibly the end of Dolphin way or the end of 675. The public boat ramp on the Intercoastal is a mile away and I would like to avoid the extra distance. I can easily 4-wheel drive to down the beach into the cut. I was wondering if the current would keep me from launching there.

thanks again
