December was pretty nice

Post by Prof. Salt »

I've been lazy about posting during the holidays, but now that I'm back to work I guess I should dump some results. I've been out of touch for a few weeks, but I was fishing pretty consistently. Most days I waded for trout around drainages on the outgoing tide, but I worked some deeper flats too to the tune of a dozen flounder (including my PB just before the ban ended), ten reds and almost a hundred trout. Most fish were caught on the Z-man scented jerk bait in "the deal" color. I kept what the family could eat and released the rest, and it made for a nice holiday between semesters. Here are a few of the stringers:

Very nice. I've been out of state and am hoping to get back at it this weekend.

Thanks, Professor, for all your energetic & high-yield fishing reports.
But watch out because TKF Saltykat is back in Galveston for his normal Winter vacation. He flees frigid Chicago to fish Galveston every Winter. I met him about 20 something years ago kayak fishing.
He's the best fisherman I've ever seen. Never have seen him get skunked. Hope this doesn't go to his head... ha ha.
