11/28 Low Water Redfish

My 23 year old daughter joined me this morning for a redfish trip out around Freeport. The water was very low when we arrived at the launch. The Northeast wind was not all that low and there was definitely a chill in the air.

We launched. We fished. We caught fish. We got cold. We came in about two hours after launching.

Fish came on a variety of offerings, green moon paddle tails, a Gartside Soft Hackle Streamer, a tan Borski Bonefish Slider. Redfish ranged from about 26” to 15” and there was a bonus puppy drum and potato chip flounder.

Any Father-Daughter day is significant.
Especially to a fisherman who wishes he could.

The other connection to my daughter is that the collar on the Gartside Soft Hackle Streamer came from a Hooded Merganser she harvested

She’s quite the hunter.

She’s doing a gig with a hunting equipment clothing manufacturer next month, I’m not allowed to say which one.
