Day7

Post by saltykat »

Took the kayak out after fishing out of the boat the last couple trips. Launched just after daylight because the fog was so thick you could barely see the road while driving and didn’t want to deal with any crazy boaters. No wind and the mosquitoes were relentless all morning fished the outgoing tide caught 5 trout to 19” and a 22” red all on slow sinking mirrolures. Water was about 64 degrees and I’ve never seen so many mullet in all my years of winter fishing it was incredible even if the fishing wasn’t

At least you went fishing while most of us were busy not fishing, lol.

That high winter water temperature seems to be hurting your normal high-performance fishing, Admiral. I bet you're looking forward to our next cold front. I hope Shoffer can escape from his courtroom duties long enough to join us when that happens.

We'll have to decide whether to catch 'em from one of your powerboats or from our kayaks. I like those kind of decisions.

DD just let me know when you want to go. It has been pretty warm for the most part. This weeks cooler weather should help fishing
