My uderstanding, if we don't restore freshwater discharge into our bays, we're going to have to learn to like fishing for jellyfish.

Yes, it seems the jellies thrive in high-saline water.

At age 10 my family was lounging & swimming on Galveston’s West Beach. I got stung badly by a Portuguese Man-of-War and still remember the red welts and throbbibg pain.

Thankfully my father knew to gently pour some hot water on my legs which helped. I learned to watch out for those deadly translucent bubbles in the surf.

You must also watch for smelly, brown things floating in the surf as well.

Shoffer, are you referring to those brown blobs you sometimes deposit in our back bays? Oh my. Good times!
