My equipment is old and worn out so I replaced a couple of rods with Shimano teramar spinning rods one 7'MH and one 7'H but now need help on a good spinning reel with around #20s of drag. I'm thinking a 4k size for the MH and maybe a 5k for the Heavy. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thx.

I'm a Penn fan so the Penn Spinfisher V gets my vote. If you want a little waterproofing, the Spinfisher VI or Slammer III if you can stretch the budget.

Didn't realize that this question was posted up in BTB so edited my original comment. See below.

This may be too light for what you're looking for but check out Lew's Mach Crush Speed Spin MCR400 - light and strong and pretty good bang for the buck!

I've been a Penn fan for 40 years, and my 4x00SS series reels are still functional in reserve.
My casting reels are Lew's and always will be.
But this decade I've become a Tica fan as the biggest bang for the buck in spinning reels.
Have a Tica Libra that's been a workhorse, and a Cetus XUL that's landed 22" and 23" specs on 4-lb copolymer and served in the salt 8 years now.
I wouldn't hesitate to shop Tica on Amazon and buy their best reel that's at the limit of my budget.

They rigs will be my main offshore setups. For trolling, bottom fishing and live bait. I would like to put 300 yrs of #50 pp on the heavy and 20 on the other

50-lb power pro is same diameter as 12-lb mono
Tica 4000-5000 series reels will handle that.
The Taurus 5000 is $120.
The Libra 4500 is $100.
Their top-line Talisman 4000 is a steal at $140.

For the smaller, the Libra 3000 is a steal at $70. I fish one of these.

I have a PENN Spinfisher V rod with a PENN 6500 reel on it. I liked the first one so much that I bought two more. If you like this combo, make sure to get the combo and not just the reel. The reason I say this is because I have found out that Bass Pro Shop will sell the combo for the same price as the reel alone. If the price is the same, then you might as well get both. I don't know if it's any cheaper online or not so you may want to check that out before purchasing. If my memory serves me right, this combo at BPS sells for $199.99. I've seen them on sale for $179.99. These rod/reels will hold up to kings and other pelagic species.
