at the Bayou without a paddle

Post by Duby »

First off it was not me I wish I could say I was smart enough to think of this.
One of our TKF friends went to fish the marsh of Johnson Bayou Louisiana
when he got there he forgot the paddle so he went to the closes store to buy what
ever paddle he could get. NO PADDLE so he did the next best thing bought a
broom and duck tape wrap the head and straw we now have a paddle!
Paddle over 2 miles.

I wish I could get the video to post

Lol. They DID used to call them "sweeps" on rowed galleons, way back when. You just brought it into modern times.

i keep an emergency short plastic paddle in the hull.
years a go i found myself fighting a bull red BTB and in the corner of my eye, i saw my paddle drifting away, paddle leash unhooked. managed to control the red to a close enuf distance, loosen the drags, made a few casts with a she dog to snag the paddle. i released the red because he was nice enuf to pull me toward the paddle ... otherwise, i would either be fish bait or in cuba starting a revolution
