The Elite Redfish Series is holding a kayak tournament this week and I, for one, have a lot on my mind about it. Its a big tournament, big gamble but big reward. Check it out

Five Hundred smackers.....wow! I see a few other names I recognize out of the 22 entrants, ..you have a lot of good competition out there this weekend Dave. I wish you luck and if I see any of you out there in my regular winter marsh areas I promise to stay waayyyyy clear of you. I would not want to come between you and a $10,000 red.

James, good write up. I tend to stress out when fishing a tournament. Probably do better to forget it is a tournament and just do what comes naturally. Must have been a bad day for you not to place. I am considering a fly fishing tournament and having the same thoughts. Not the entry fee, but the distance. I will look at it as a 4-day fishing road trip to a new area.
