I can't believe it is already October and that means trout season will be starting soon!

I floated a stretch of the Guadalupe this morning with a buddy. I ended up catching a 22inch Striper which is always a blast on the fly. I saw quite a few Stripers this morning including three giants. I'm talking fish in the 15-20 pound range. Unfortunately, they weren't interested in my offering.

Zac-
Great looking fish! Next time you go out, if you need some company, give me a holler!

Will be fishing Saturday and Sunday mornings by Camp Hueco Springs...planning on throwing some roostertails and maybe some baby rattlesnakes. Any other advice or ideas?

Frog, as the cooler weather sets in I will shift my focus to trout fishing. I do have a few cold weather bass spots that I like to fish in the winter. I have a long winter break and will be doing lots of fishing! Let me know if you ever want to go out and I'll most likely be available.

Welderdude, Texas rigged baby brush hogs are my favorite bass lures for the Guad. Greens and pumpkins are always good colors for me. I also have good luck throwing smaller crankbaits. I would also throw some swim baits early and late for the chance at Stripers. If you are wanting to target Trout it is too early, and with the warm water this summer any holdover trout are likely dead. Good Luck!

P.s. Nice fish Rotag!
