I spoke to one of the deputies that was involved at the gym yesterday. He said the officer that jumped in deserves a commendation for his deed. I agree.

yeah, The deputy that jumped in is on another forum I visit regularly (Texasbowhunter.com). He is the one that posted the link to the news article and I copied it from there. Basically he said the current was strong and he barely got the kayaker and himself out.
