I imagine we will soon see some PVC knockoffs.

5 pack for $110? they sure are proud but i guess the trap door part would be difficult to DIY. my flowtroll could probably be modified by drilling more holes on top

I'd be all like "It's got a lock on me"... "I can't shake it".. "deploying flares"... Ok let's fish. LOL.

Cool concept.

Am i crazy for just pulling my bait bucket out of the water and putting it in the back on longer paddles? never had a problem with it.

Certainly this "Am i crazy for just pulling my bait bucket out of the water and putting it in the back on longer paddles? never had a problem with it."

makes all of the sense in the world.

But, at least some of us, don't plan our "long" paddles. They just happen a few hundred yards at a time.

The regular big bait buckets that have been around for a coon's age are not designed for kayakers. I used them for many years as a power boater without a bait-well in my small boats.

Whoever came up with this idea is addressing it as a kayaker. Hope he make some $$$ on it.

As the old (and good ) GE used to say "Progress is our most important product"

my question on this torpedo style bait bucket is what is the capacity? because I am sure the bucket still holds way more bait.

No doubt you are correct. But, a home made pvc version could be as long as you want it. You'd have to worry about crushing the bait too much in then end and killing them. Everything is a trade off.

in a similar vein, I have switch out the barrel style float on my stringer for an oval shaped one. The difference in drag when towing the stringer is amazing. Or at least that is how I feel.

one of these floats.

If you make it out of ABS, it floats. PVC is an anchor. ABS is black. I haven't built one out of ABS yet, but dang the PVC one is unwieldy...

At 4.5" in diameter and only 21" long, you aren't keeping much bait in that thing for very long. I'm guessing 12 mud minnows/finger mullet would be a pretty tight fit and shrimp/shad are really not going to last. Great idea, but just not big enough. Make it bigger and you just increase drag to a standard minnow bucket.

flares? Noise makers maybe...didn't you watch Hunt for Red October?

it's a very cool concept - I like that he worked on it, got it developed and is now selling them. It's 30 bucks - I've spent money in worse ways...

I made my first bait tube 10 years ago. Finally some one produced one. With the way tube is I can fit just as much bait as my flow troll. Offshore guys have been utilizing this for a long time now. I have noticed that fin fish to better than shrimp in the tube. But when do shrimp ever do better than other live baits in any bucket.
