Has anyone ever launch from the Salt Lake boat ramp? I have been looking around for places to fish, since I have recently gotten my first kayak. I have little boat fishing experience, mostly wade fishing around Drum bay and in the surf around Surfside. Any suggestions?

If you are talking about the ramp on Salt Lake in the Brazoria Cty wildlife refuge, I've put in there many times. I've caught a lot of reds and flounder working the shorelines. It's good from Fall thru Spring. Being shallow it gets pretty warm in the summer and fishing slows down a lot. The entrance gate is open from daylight till dark, so don't get caught staying too late.
