Finally!!

Post by MulletMaster08 »

Winter time trout fishing for me has been terrible! Sabine lake has been messed up with all the fresh water which has made trout fishing difficult. After 9 trips to Sabine and frozen point and East bay I ne'er caught the first fish, it was hard on me. Well with the northern winds we had I decided to get rid of the skunk and find a marsh drain for some reds.

I fished TB and nothing in the channels or even the flats but then I made my way back and see a tail. I hang into one and 5-6 more scatter. I proceeded to land 8 reds that were all schooled up pushing bait along the shoreline, I had 2 that were 27 7/8" 1-29" 1-31" and the rest were 25-26"

I think that it was a good way to get rid of the black cloud over my head!

Nice. I plan to go somewhere Saturday. What was the water clarity in the main channel and the backwater? My son flew over TB Sunday morning and said it looked muddy.

Yea it wasn't the greatest when I went, the backwater on the flats was more clear than the channel
