Against my better judgement I may go fishing tomorrow for short trip. Anyone been catching any flounder? I was wondering if the fall run has yet to start good.
Has anyone been at all? It has been a little quite on here lately.
Wind Alert shows around 10mph SSE with high gust. I have not been in months and just need to go somewhere.
Anyone been fishing?

I'm stuck home this weekend hanging with my kids. Wife is on team for an ACTS retreat this weekend. I'll be able to fish more often thanks to my new job.

Better judgement ruled. The wind was howling at 6:15am in Lumberton. I could image white caps in the big pot holes down there so I made of pot of coffee.
Jedi, is your new job a career change or another position with no weekend duty?
I plan to take a few days off the next couple of weeks and may fish instead of hunting.

Complete career change. Went from being the foreman at Wilbert Funeral Services to being a dock operator on the wharf @ Exxon Mobil Chemical.

Congratulations James on your new career that comes with bonus fishing times. Roger, I fished last Sunday and again on Wednesday the 9th in the Texas Point marshes. Caught reds but no flounder. I have not heard any great reports about this years forgettable flounder run, even from friends who make the trip to winter flounder mecca in Cameron.

I fished cameron the friday after thanksgiving. Hooked 5, strung 4, nothing special size wise. Didn't see anyone catch more than 5.
Fished there again on 12/5 and didn't get a bite at all in a couple of hours. About 15 people fishing there and only saw about 6 or 7 fish caught.
Was pretty windy both days.

I have read recent reports of catching flounder in the marshes. The run may not have begun or is just strung out.
