So after seeing the mess of catfish that somebody cleaned there at the ramp, it got me thinking.
Has anyone here gone out there from ramp 11 and had success finding the cats along the main river channel? I've got somewhat of a handle on the crappie fishing, even though I still havent had a trip that brought in any decent number of crappie. I at least feel like I know what to do there.
The only catfishing I've done here in San Antonio has been down at Cali, and thankfully I got some great pointers from the Cali Cat guys so I learned what to do there. I feel like canyon lake would be a different approach, and I dont know what to look for out there really in terms of depth, structure, etc.
Any pointers?

Find yourself a nice looking stump or tree off the main channel and bait yourself a hole. Don't make it too obvious because those cat fishers are pretty sharp and they'll camp out on your hole.
