Making fun of my fishing vehicle
Making fun of my fishing vehicle
I have a Toyota Prius with a hitch to tow my kayak trailer and kayak. I have taken a lot of ribbing all in good fun. Just thought I would post a pic of my dashboard for all that make fun of me.

Tombo, you da man! I hate to admit that I just sold my PHX 16, although It was towed on a small trailer for years behind my old PT cruiser. It was just smooth sailing.............cC

This monster pulls that trailer with 2 yaks, all of our fishing gear, AND a livewell full of live reds down the road at 85mph with ease! Surprised me, for sure!

Sorry Tombo.....although I respect your future plan for the planet and all, I do have my own plan for conservation and such, which is I'll still buy gas for my guzzling 4wd Z71, go ANYWHERE I may want, and STILL have a pair of SWINGING BALLS.......once some biatch cuts'm off and hangs them on her trophy wall, I'll buy a Prius and buy you a beer.

Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
My trailer is not that heavy, Magneta brand used to have 12" tires now 13" so when I go down the beach it has more of a footprint.
When towing mileage drops from average of 45 down to around 36 mpg. When I say beach, the sand is hard enough for a bike. Other conditions I borrow my brothers 4WD Jeep.
My other vehicle is a 97 Ford F250 diesel. So, you can see I go to extreme ends of the mpg range.

Tombo...no matter what your mileage is, this still is and always will be funny.
See you on Saturday bud! Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
Its all in good fun. Have to fill my gas tank, its almost empty. Cost me $20 to go 450 miles. I take out a bank loan to fill up my truck.

Dang I miss my F250.
But I sure don't miss my payment and happy with a company provided 4x4 with gas.

Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
Tombo, shouldn't we all be driving Prius or pulling our yaks with a bicycle? What is more fuel efficient on the water than a (non-motorized) yak?
That is the deal when you drive a pedal/paddle craft that is light enough to be towed by anything.

Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
I gotta add in one of my secret goals in life-I ride my bike (bicycle) to work a couple days a week (very short commute). My dream is one day for a Prius to pull up next to me at a stop light while I am on my bicycle. I want to turn, look the Prius driver in the eye and say, "Gas guzzler!" right before the light turns green and I pedal away.
Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
Maybe so, but I would still rather drive the really cool blue and white sports car pictured next to your name!Tombo wrote:I have a Toyota Prius with a hitch to tow my kayak trailer and kayak. And I get 13 mph in my jeep...uphill, downhill, upwind, downwind, 2wd or 4 wd....
Re: Making fun of my fishing vehicle
Tombo you crack me up. Have a friend in Virginia that has one and we all give him flack. He's originally from Wharton, but we still pick on him . He gets a zillion miles per tank .
