Questions on boat building

Post by RedmanYakin »

Hey all, after search for a new project and looking at a new boat I came across some of yalls projects and well needless to say this looks fun as can be. Also I will be able to customize what I want, which would be great. First off i'm looking to probably go with http://www.bateau.com/proddetail.php?pr ... w9PQvldXK0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.bateau.com/proddetail.php?pr ... w9OgvldXK0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; or http://www.bateau.com/proddetail.php?pr ... w9PAvldXK0" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. I have been wanting to replace my canoe with a little bit bigger boat to take my chick out with me or a friend from time to time, also to take my dog out for a ride in the boat as she loves the water but no room in my PA14 kayak for her when I go solo or if I take the canoe its a pain with all my crap in the way.

For starters what are some good books and or online places to read up for good info on materials, better methods to use, all that sort of stuff so I can plan out the build to be cost effective and make it easier to complete. I will be reading up more on yalls posts and what not, but wanted to see if there was more hands on reading for this. Any advice would be great.

Thanks for the help ahead of time!

the http://bateau2.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; site has good info as doe's http://www.devlinboat.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; http://www.duckworksmagazine.com/" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; there's lots more of course. Do use good plywood if you want the boat to last, look at the how to index on Duckworks for example you'll see this http://www.oldwharf.com/ow_tracyobrien.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. Take your time study some then do it, the satifaction of building your own boat is hard to beat.
