My name is Tom, (everyone say hello Tom) and I am addicted to kayak fishing. If this wind calms down, I would be interested in fishing Portland area.

I've Vlad. Just moved to Corpus back in July. Been fishing my whole life, but saltwater is new to me. Just picked up a kayak (ocean kayak Trident 13) the other day. Itching to take it out, but the weather was nasty this weekend. Spent time (and money) buying accessories and playing with the rigging.

Hello guy!
For us being in Corpus Christi/Portland/Aransas Pass we don't get much Activity on the CCTKF Chapter.
Anyways all my friends call me NADO, I don't go fishing as much as I wish I could but when I do go, I typically get skunked! lol  But I am trying to learn new areas like Aransas Pass, LHL and I want to try Porno Flats. I have a Black Widow Cuda 14 that I try to take out as much as I can but when Im not out in the yak I typically like to wade fish as well. I want to try to night fish, just bought my 360 Degree light but haven't built a set up to mount it yet.

You can try fishing at night under and around the bridge, corpus side of the causeway coming from Portland. Launch near the bridge by the boat launch, typically you will run into some keeper trout.

Tombo-

Ill try that out. Is the channel that connects Corpus Christi Bay to the Back bay relatively close to the shore on the Corpus Side? Im asking because I saw a video of someone wading the area but I dont know if they were on the Portland side or the Corpus side. I guess I need to go out and try it out. Either way I want to try it out after that pier that upgraded their pier and put some lights under their pier.

Its the bridge lights that attract the fish to the bait. I would recommend you go with some one else first. I would never fish there at night by my self.

I will definitly try the place out, during the day a few times and if I can get someone to go with me night fishing I will go. I have not logged enough hours on the water in my kayak to go fishing at night any time soon. Thanks for the Info Tombo!
