so, what is the difference between a canoe and a kayak?
I have seen pictures of a 'kayak' being built, and it is an open boat, with no decking, and what looks like a folding chair in the middle to sit on.
Is that a kayak? And if so, why isn't it a canoe?
A question for the experts - what is a kayak?

Re: A question for the experts
Good question chief. I have and like the Native Ultimate 14.5. It's open by design and does not have any scupper holes to drain it. They call it a kayak, I call it a yak. Some say its a hybrid cross. I don't know, what is it? I would like to know what does make a kayak a kayak, and a canoe a canoe.
