Easy way to prepare for a fishing trip
Easy way to prepare for a fishing trip
I just wanted to share with you all something I do when I get ready for a trip. I take advantage of the smartphone that I have and have a list app. The one I use on my iPhone is "Lists to do" it's a very simplistic app where you just input what you need then you tap it to either check it or uncheck it.
When I get ready for a BTB trip I don't ever have to worry about all the stuff I need on top of my head and never have to worry that I forgot anything. Either I have it or I don't. After I started using it, the time it takes me to get ready has gotten quicker.
Since BTB is not my only style of fishing that I do, I have a separate list for each style weather it be bay kayaking, surf, wading & etc.
I'm pretty sure some of you all do this already. Just throwing out the idea to the ones that don't.
Tight lines!

Good job You can never be overprepared.

I like it. I use a similar app for all kinds of things at work. It's simple and keeps from having to re-invent the wheel over and over...again.

Thanks guys! I tend to get real excited when I set out for a trip and somehow always end up leaving a key item at home that would put me on more fish. I always get jumble brained trying to remember what I need to bring also. This was my solution

Re: Easy way to prepare for a fishing trip
This is a great idea. For btb I minimize my equipment and just bring what I need, all I have to load up is yak, paddles, rods, and then I have everything sitting in the cuda seat (tackle box, pfd) after that my Jackson cooler with some frozen bottles of water and im good to go. I have a small tackle box with 2 Plano boxes that hold leaders and top waters the rest of the space is taken up by soft plastics. Takes me less than 5 min to strap down the yak and load the rest.
