Waterproofing for Batteries?

Post by APynckel »

Me and a couple buddies are trying to rig up some green night fishing lights, as well as navigation, and amber cockpit for bug repelling. We're all going to be getting fish finders soon, so we wanted to get enough battery life to run the entire shindig.

The thought was to use two UB1290 lead acid batteries in parallel to extend the amp hours.

However, we need some kind of waterproofing to keep them from getting wet. Does anyone have any ideas? We are trying to keep the waterproofing under $20 for each pair of batteries.

Thank you!

If that is the same size as a 12v deer feed battery, yes...

That is what's inside my box. You can find Plano boxes that are slightly bigger where you can install switches to control the devices independently. On mine I have a mini toggle switch.

Go to the camping area. They have dry bags, dry cell phone cases, and these dry boxes for $7. Have seen them in red and blue colors just in case.
