Grapevine Lake SB2013

Well, went and camped at The Vineyards Rv park on Lake Grapevine for the first half of spring break. Got a little fishing in, but it rained the night after we got there. I decided to go to bass pro, cabelas, northpark mall, and whole foods and wait out the crappy post rain fishing conditions. 2 evenings later, I kinda put together a pattern throwing a Booyah 1/2oz Football jig in my favorite color, and went back to the warmer water in the coves by the dam. Main lake temperature was 55 and back in the creek it was 58-61 degrees. I found this good sized bass slowly draggin the bait down a white rock laidened steeper bank in about 6ft of water. water temp 58.8 degrees. Basically it was a cold water finesse game and if i was smart or had a few days I would have focused my attempts at the other end of the lake and tried for whites. but oh well it was fun. got about 4 miles a day in the yak too.
