The Corps no longer gives advisories or updates for the BlueGreen Algae levels in lakes. The website above is where they direct everyone. I guess that keeps there from being several different takes on what is discovered.

Just pick your lake and get fishing reports etc and it is updated daily. It is a pretty decent site actually.

As of Aug 22, 2012 they just say the advisory is in place and you should simply not come into contact with water that is green colored on the surface or with heavy suspended particles near the surface.

Blue-green algae levels up in Lake Texoma
By Jonathan Cannon
Herald Democrat
Lake Texoma visitors are being urged to use caution because of elevated levels of blue-green algae.

According to a notice posted Wednesday on the Oklahoma Tourism and Recreation Department’s lake condition website, the cell count of the algae has increased in the lake.

“Contact with the water is discouraged until toxicity tests can be completed,” the site says. “Visitors should not drink untreated water or let themselves or pets come in contact with areas of discolored water. If you or your pet swim in water that may have blue-green algae present, rinse off with soap and fresh water. Although swimming is discouraged, visitors can still enjoy boating and many land activities at locations around the lake.”
