Farewell Houston...It was awesome!

Post by M T Stringer »

Well, it's official...In a few hours I will be on the road for Corpus...yak and gear loaded with the rest of it. It has been a fun 2 years since I was first introduced to this sport. I know, I know, I got a really late start, but I am making up for lost time. 8)

I am really excited about what lies ahead in that beautiful water down south, but would be lying if I said I won't miss the muddy marshes that my kayak and I have come to call home. Many friends have been made along the way, and some epic fishing trips as a result. I owe quite a few of you a raincheck, for plans that fell through for one reason or another...don't worry, I will be back to visit.

OK....so, I didn't get into video until recently...but here is a highlight clip of the past year or so...I hope you enjoy it as much as I did making it...

Thanks Houston!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thanks for that video MT. Awsome.

We spent 16 years in corpus and I fished a lot of the water in the area. Perhaps you might consider picking up a fly rod cause the water really is much clearer just south of Corpus, and the sight fishing is pretty exciting.

Good luck Travis, you are a class gentleman first  and a pretty decent fisherman too  . It was easy to fish with you because of this amd you will always be a friend and not just another guy to fish with.

I'll be back south soon and will give you a holler  .

Happy Fishin'

MT - You're a great contributor to the board and look forward to hearing more from you when you get to Corpus. I'm taking the rain check on the fishing adventure. Whenever you get a craving for dirty brown marsh water, you'll know where to find us!

Nice video Travis. I only met you once, but we still had a good time at the lures tourney. Good luck in Corpus, I'm betting you're gonna love it down there, pretty sure you won't miss our chocolate mud water.

Travis, good luck fishing in those clear waters down Corpus-way. I much enjoyed fishing with you & also your informative commentary on TKF. Please stay in touch! I go to Corpus in the Spring & Fall to fish the legendary Baja Laguna Fish Camp on Mustang Island (with long lighted pier, gourmet food, & accommodations for at least 6 people)). Maybe you could join our happy group some time... :D Plus, I give free legal advice to kayak-nuts! Tight lines,

Awesome video man! It's going to be a new experience catching all those fish that you can see sitting in the water, but I'm sure you'll manage just fine. Enjoy buddy and let me know when you come back for a visit.
