Need a suggestion on where to go on the west side.

Post by Shallow Impact »

Looking for a place to take the wife on the west side so she can get used to using my 2nd kayak. Tried the Bridgelands but they will not allow non residents. Is Town Lake a possibility? Any other body of water on the west side?

I've lived out on the NW side of town for 20 years and there really isn't any place that won't run you off (including town lake). You better head to Conroe, Summerville, Fayette or San Jacinto Monument.

Good Luck.

Northshore Park in The Woodlands is very kayak-frieindly. Nice launches, beautiful views, and you can paddle all the way to the pavillion and hear a concert for free! :D

Question... If you park at the Northshore Park, can you leave your car there after the 'dusk'? I thought you had to be out of there by dark...?

Lock the gate at dusk but if you time it right park security will sometime leave lock unlock if you will lock it for them when you leave. Saves the long walk :D
