I fished a drum tournament on Rocky's Pier in High Island last weekend. The winner decked 11 drum, mixed black and red. http://tinyurl.com/2kbyzr Second place, Oscar's son Anthony, had 6. All in about 16 hours of fishing before the winds got too high to enjoy fishing. Socom is looking at fishing BTB near the pier this weekend. Shoot him a PM. Just saw you want to go Friday. The pier should be even hotter with a couple of days of sunshine. There is a beach entrance just East of the pier and a stairway up to the pier from the beach. You could park on the beach and try your luck in the surf and still have the option of the pier to get lines out farther than the surf.
