Trout Stocking Dates

Post by CrockerAg »

Work is busy and I need a little distraction so I thought I would start a discussion about something that is fast approaching. I am interested in everyone's views on whether or not to publish or not to publish the trout stocking dates and locales. Personally I am against it because it seems like a waste. I know some states did away with publishing this information because it got so bad that anglers were waiting at the hatchery to follow the trucks to streams and then start fishing as soon as they were released. I just think that if the state is going to publish the date they might as well give people a gift certificate to Whole Foods for free trout. So if it were up to me I would leave it unknown as to when and where trout will be stocked. This is just my personal opinion and there is no intent to offend seeing as I just wanted to sample people's opinion on the issue. Now back to the exciting world of data entry and statistics.

What kind of trout you talking about.

If it is sea trout, I had just as soon they don't publish the dates.

If it is fresh water trout (the kind they stock in Houston and surrounding lakes) they need to publish the dates because they are all going to die when the water temps come up in the spring.
