Kiss The Wall?
Very few of paddlers get formal paddle training. In my opinion EVERYONE should take a moving water paddling class. Last Saturday, I saw a friend turn his yak over when he got pinned against something. The rule of thumb is the wall is your friend. It can be a log, post, strainer or what ever. If you LEAN into the wall, you WILL NOT turn over. Lean into the wall, get your head together and fiqure who to get out of the situation you are in. If you get scrared and try to get away from the wall, your yak will lean and the current will flip you over. Works every time.
