MIRROLURE 60M ??

Post by sharpshooter »

hey guys. a friend of mine, who gave up fishing for medical reasons, donated his tackle box to yours truely. there was a bunch of older lures like Bingos and large Mepps spinners that i don't plan on using, but i also found a Mirrolure 60M21. I know the 21 is mullet pattern and it has three large trebles and lacks rattles. it looks like a 52m. anyone have an idea of what the difference is? maybe it sinks faster? i have the new Mirrolure catalog, and its not in there. i thought it was the big game series at first, but thats the 65M and 77M. any help is appreciated.--- sharpshooter

Isn't the 60 series the one with the line eye on the nose but otherwise the same as the 52? These were for surf or shallow water use rather than from a pier or boat. Those old Bingos can be worth $25 or more deprnding on model and condition.

no, you're speaking of the 51 series. ive got a few of those too. i think this one is the predecessor to the 52. i found an article where the founder of Mirrolure used a 60m to catch a tarpon and fought it for 17 hours straight! just doesnt say anything about the lure. thanks.

The 60M is a heavier(5/8 oz) deep runner. http://www.fourway.net/users/pkiefer/mi ... odels.html

You're most welcome, sharpshooter. That was quite a gift, especially with the Bingos in the mix.
