Later in the day an Osprey was up high just stationary into the wind for a spell then glides down and off behind me. Soon I hear a big splash and as I turned could see him flying off to the north with a small fish in its talons.
Fishing was slow, but eventually I found some at the mouth of the central marsh area. Not sure if current was moving or if the flow was just wind driven, but there was some movement out of the marsh. In this area I caught a couple of reds to 17” and a small flounder.
I tried some of the deeper areas, where fish showed up on the FF but I got no takers on the jerk shad, a small DSL paddle tail or a popping cork.
Finished the day heading back south along with the parade of oyster boats headed in with their loads. All in all a great day on the water. More of an exercise day, with 7 miles in 4 hours out, than a fish day but some nice sights and nice companionship!
