Anyone Catch Kings on Saturday 9/7 ?

Post by Tagdog »

The conditions looked great on Saturday and I fished the Rigs out from the State Park. There were no birds. I saw one turtle and only caught one Spanish off a lure. It was a King dead Zone. Was it just me? September is usually pretty good. Maybe it was just a bad day.

No Kings here, either, though I went to Matagorda rig. Jacks and Sharks were thick and hungry and landed a few Smacks, too.

I fished the flats *hangs head in shame*. Action was slow there too. The fish weren't actively feeding and I ran over lots of sleeping fish with the kayak. It was frustrating.

I fished the flats on Friday without much luck. But I did see them too.

It's been an odd year for kingfish. Sometimes they're in and the action is nonstop. Other times you can't get a bite from them all day.
