Yesterday I got home from work and rather than go walking for exercise, I threw the kayak on the trailer and headed for the bay front. Wind was a gusty 18-24, but I planned to use the rocks that shelter the inner marina as cover as much as I could. I paddled to the Lexington and back (4.3 miles) and even with my fiddling around three times to figure out my new GoPro, I did the trip in just an hour. That wouldn't be remarkable on a calm day, but in that kind of wind... I was pleased with how the boat performed.
*I'm now over 63 miles and still haven't put a seat on the kayak. Now that I got used to using my core, I don't even miss the seat. I don't think I've lost any weight but the extra workout has me feeling great!

How does the Stealth 555 handle 20 mph winds and the chop that comes with it?

I'm President of your jealousy club...
Heading out right now to pick up my NOS Kestrel at TG in San Marcos - apples and oranges, but I'm excited about my new boat.

Haha, thanks Ron.
Thursday after work I launched at the same spot and paddled over to Portland and back ...and averaged just over 5 mph for the entire trip!
