Yesterday I got home from work and rather than go walking for exercise, I threw the kayak on the trailer and headed for the bay front. Wind was a gusty 18-24, but I planned to use the rocks that shelter the inner marina as cover as much as I could. I paddled to the Lexington and back (4.3 miles) and even with my fiddling around three times to figure out my new GoPro, I did the trip in just an hour. That wouldn't be remarkable on a calm day, but in that kind of wind... I was pleased with how the boat performed.
*I'm now over 63 miles and still haven't put a seat on the kayak. Now that I got used to using my core, I don't even miss the seat. I don't think I've lost any weight but the extra workout has me feeling great!
