This fish hit the swimbait like it owed her money. Image

Inhaled that one! I like the color on that bait. What bait is it?

I’m not sure if the color. Jenko makes the bait, I picked it up at Academy. I’m using an Owner screw lock swim bait hook that has the willow leaf blade attached to it.

Jenko Booty Shaker 5.0 . $10 for 4
.I'm used to zoom soft baits, lol. $3 to 5 for 10.
With results like that, I may have to quit being so cheap!

I find it funny that now the rage is "swimbaits" when it is mostly a shad imitation. That is what I grew up fishing with, was my father's favorite go-to lure to use. The sizes were not as varied as now, but I remember my favorite one was a two colored, gray and white, that we could only find at Gibson's. Had a blast using them then, caught lots of fish, and now don't care for them. Guess times have changed.

Gibson's! Now there's a blast from the past.
Dickey's jeans, BB guns, air rifles, fishing lures, pocket knives...
I spent a bunch of allowance and lawn mowing money in the one in Orange.

I used to the hit the one on 11th Street in Beaumont. There is still one in Kerrville. Looks just like I remember it.

Couldn't find the Jenko's at my Academy. Guess I'll have to look online. I really like the looks of that bait and it obviously works.
