Corpus Christi Lure Making History-Dr. David McKee

Post by CopanoCruisin »

What a golden opportunity I had last night! I really enjoyed the presentation by Dr. David McKee on Corpus Christi's lure making history. How very knowledgable and well, presented. I could, have listened to him for hours on end. It was hosted by the Corpus Christi Parks Dept. at the Oso Bay Wetlands Perserve. If you ever get a chance, jump on it! ........cC

I started collecting lures about 3 years ago. The history of lure making in the Texas coastal bend is amazing. It's a very addicting hobby. I have many more lures, but these shrimp are my favorite.

That would be a great event to attend for me. The Plugging
Shorty in dark green was a favorite lure of mine in the 60's. Good memories from that lure.

Great history behind all those old "vintage" lures! Thanks for sharing. Back in the 60s I caught my first speckled trout casting blindly from the Texas City Dike. My father was amazed to see his 9-year-old son haul in a frisky 24" speck caught on an old root-beer/red-head BINGO lure. That's it, below. From then on I was hooked hard on fishing.
