It’s freakin hot
It’s freakin hot out. One of favorite ways to beat the heat and still catch a few is to creek wade. I caught this little smallie yesterday while walking the creeks.
What do y’all do to beat this heat?

Sounds like what I would do. Just dive in when it gets too hot to fish!

there's an A-strain of endemic Guadalupe bass there - one of only two A-strains remaining.

Re: It’s freakin hot
For hot weather, I drift and push along in a super comfortable float tube, fishing the Guadalupe when I stop at the shady areas. Waders are too hot for me, I use River sandals with socks that don't absorb water, quickly gets rid of the sloshing around when walking on dry land. When it is super hot, I like the cold water below Canyon Dam because it cools your shins and keeps your whole body cooler as the blood circulates.

well waders are for fishing in winter, by April, they're shed on the Guadalupe, and everyone is wet-wading.

Guadalupe are on my bucket list, I’m hoping to cross Suwannee Bass off my list in the spring.Ron Mc wrote:there's an A-strain of endemic Guadalupe bass there - one of only two A-strains remaining.

In Boerne, from the tractor museum down to the bottom of the Nature Center, both banks are public land, and many people don't know that. A-strain of endemic bass are protected by the creek disappearing into the aquifer a few miles farther down.
