Back on the water with my Bote Rover

Post by Rotorman »

Been out of fishing for the past few years due to life (kids and work etc). But it’s all normalizing now so I’m glad to get to wet a line again.

As I get older and rounder, paddle and pedal just are not for me so as with all things I’m looking for the best of all worlds.

Now I love the intimacy and stealth of kayaks, but like fishing more than a few miles of marsh. So a small skiff is were I looked.

And I found the Rover. Total gross about 400 lbs and a 15 mph top speed mean I can fish all the marsh I love and burn little gas and still sneak up on them shallow fishy’s.

The thing floats with me and all my gear in 3” and poles and paddles pretty well. Not much glide but better than a flat stalker.

It’s pretty stable too. All and all I think I’ll be happy with it.

Is there any hull slap when quartering into winds?
