Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
Surf and winds looking very good for Tuesday and Wednesday next week. Monday and Thursday surf is great but winds a bit high maybe.
1 ft waves all week. Weather in the 70's. Sunny. What more can you ask for?!?
Looking to get out to a few of the closer rigs if anyone wants to tag along just chime in here. We'll keep an eye on weather for sure to get the perfect day.
If no one can go I usually go alone to Bob Hall anyway but if you think you might make it go ahead and come out and meet me on the water. I'll have a few extra king rigs if you need em. I'll be stopping at the bait shop when it opens at 0600 and be on the beach by 0630 and at the first rig by 0800.

I can go in 2.5 weeks along as weather & seas are permitting of coarse.
Re: Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
I'm looking to go sometime next week, depending on the winds; I'd like to score some jacks for shark bait. Newish to BTB but very experienced in the surf zone.

Re: Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
Wednesday is looking like EXCELLENT conditions! Still going Tuesday morning! I may bring my overnight gear and stay a couple of days! Still planning!
Right now I plan to look for smacks, triggers, jacks, snappers, king and ling. Will troll from shore to 2 miles out for smacks, jacks, kings and ling and then maybe head to 5 mile rigs for snapper, trigger, kings and lings and other pelagic deep water and bottom dwellers.

I’m off Tuesday . Gonna see what’s going on at home. If I can work it out, would Tuesday at 6:30 am work?

Yep, that is what I am planning on going Tuesday and if it is good fishing I may stay overnight sleeping on beach and go on Wednesday as well. You need to buy a beach pass from a Stripes store if you plan on staying on beach overnight. Good for a year.Engleman wrote:I’m off Tuesday . Gonna see what’s going on at home. Tuesday I'll be on the beach by 0630. I will be parked here...
The first set of rigs are almost 2 miles out.
It is about 4 miles from the 1st set of rigs tot he 2nd set farther out.
You can go straight to farther rigs at about 5.4 miles out. There are some wrecks near these rigs to jig for snapper.
If you want to go to 2nd rigs from beach skipping the 1st set it is only a little less than 5 miles out.
The wrecks are located a few hundred yards from the rigs.
I will have my side imaging sonar to locate the wrecks and schools of fish so it should be easy to fish with small swells.

Current water temp is 72!

Study the Navionics web app for the bottom contours...

The phone app is more detailed and you can see the deep areas near shore to troll for smacks I've had good luck in.

Re: Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
In case you are wondering how far it is if you do both sets of rigs. You can cut the total distance it in half if you just troll the 1st set of rigs. This helps you determine if you are fit to do the distance....

I know I will be there 0630 in the morning on Tuesday for sure. I keep an eye out for you. I hope to meet up with you out there! I met a a good angler last year on his seadoo. Maybe that was you out at the same rigs. I'll be on channel 69, kickingback or Charlie.
Re: Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
Sounds like a good paddle, I'll be there with a Tan Single Cab Tacoma. Going to grab some ribbonfish tonight, and go check out some radios. Any recommendations?

Cool! Looks like we may have a crowd! There is a couple of people that want to fish on Wednesday so if anyone wants to come out just look for the kayaks. I will see if I will be able to stay for both days.

Re: Bob Hall Next Week Anyone?
We had a good run today! Water was 72 and the winds were not that bad. Caught 10-20 smaller snappers and big hard heads! Paul managed one red snapper 15.5" and one spanish mackerel. The jacks and triggers were around the rigs but no kings or cobia until next month. Good day out on the water! Sorry for short report. Tired. Going to clean the snapper and go to bed!
Woke up...
A few images from today. There were about 8-10 kayakers and a few PB's out today fishing the rigs at 5 miles out.

I would suggest Mayan princess. The water color was better over there vs bob hall. I’ll be on my seadoo. Some guys caught a cobia yesterday in state waters out of Billings bait.DrWhiteCap wrote:I'm looking at Mayan Princess or Bob Hall Pier for Saturday.Karyuu wrote:anyone fishing this Friday or Saturday?
