Shout out to Tobin and his trout support shallow reds DVD

Post by Chubs »

Wanted to give a shout out to the trout support shallow reds DVD. My trip to Palacios I took the goal of specifically challenging the info found in the shallow reds DVD. You can read my report in the reports section but suffice to say, what was taught actually worked!

Seeing what fish signs are suppose to look like on the dvd, and then seeing it in person is great. You just get a feeling "I've seen this before" when you are actually on the water and it gives you confidence.

I also planned my trip for the back marsh based on what he goes over and it seemed to fit perfectly. And when I think back to other times I've been successful, some of the same patterns hold true so it's not a one off in my experience.

I was on the fence about it to start but I'm glad I bought it.

Well done with the dvd! I look forward to trying the trout dvd next.

Ya I want to get the spec limits dvd next. I've got the big trout one which I've watched half of it.

I've been wanting to catch shallow reds for awhile though so that is where I started.

If you think about the cost of fish at a grocery store, the dvd pays for itself as soon as you catch one slot red hehe (Assuming you keep fish of course). You can't put a price though to actually catching the fish. I'd say it's paid for itself a few times over now.

Agreed! I watch mine all the time to refresh my mind if I am in a rut and not catching. Every time I do this I remember what I was doing wrong and correct it next trip out.
Yep, Trout Support DVD's are the best tool for any angler, beginner or expert!

I have all of the DVDs and would say I learned more from the shallow water reds DVD than the other, mainly because I knew less about reds than I do about the other species. This is one reason I know the value of these things...because they are good for everyone from newbies to salty old farts that maybe don't know as much as they thought they did

Another one that saw the light! Keep it a secret about the DVD's! You don't want everyone to know what you know now!!!

That's probably the best DVD of the bunch.. all are good, but that Shallow Reds DVD is the best. It's won awards... well sort of. The Nature Coast Lady Anglers voted it 'Best Instructional Redfish DVD'... how about that.

The set of 4 was casually voted as the best instruction set by a group of guides that refer to themselves as the midcoast guide association. I don't think they were actually officially listed, just a bunch of guides that fish the middle coast.
