Trying to find some fish for the wife
Trying to find some fish for the wife
I'm looking on some suggestions for this weekend if the rain holds out. I'm wanting to take the wife fishing somewhere along the coast. Most of my kayak fishing along the coast has been at night so I'm hoping for some general direction on my best options. She can throw artificial and we're looking anywhere in the Galveston system or down to Freeport area. Not looking to necessarily catch trout or red, but want something to pull a line. She's also wanting to enjoy the trip so somewhere in the marsh works, but it's just something I've never tried.

If you don't want to share on the public forum, feel free to shoot a message. I'm not looking for a key to the city, just wanting someone to point me in the right direction to get us started.

The weather and winds are not to my liking this weekend. Rains and high south wind Saturday and then a north wind Sunday.
If the winds weren't out of the north so high Sunday I would be hitting up Christmas Bay and paddle over around Churchhill bayou area. Even with the winds you could get a little protection up in the bayous over there but it's going to be a bumpy ride all the way there probably.

I agree, these are not good conditions to take ... even a fishing buddy, much less a wife. 85% chance for rain, high south wind, followed by high north wind sunday

Well, it depends... If you need a plausible explanation why she didn't make it back -- this weather is okaish.TroutSupport.com wrote:I agree, these are not good conditions to take ... even a fishing buddy, much less a wife. 85% chance for rain, high south wind, followed by high north wind sunday

Guess I need to go back out and look for her. The fishing rods are just for decoration.Cityfisher wrote:I don't know what happened, one minute she was there and the next gone! heheCrusader wrote:Well, it depends...
