Yes, that's why I like using my 8 # go anywhere float tube, lets me go to isolated places- or at least stay a good distance away so that private property owners and others are not annoyed. Catch and release only for me, but to each his own as long as rules are followed.

It looks like the flows are really low right now on the Guadalupe below Canyon dam . How much dragging would we have to do at current flow rates in kayaks ?

Amount of dragging depends on where you put in and take out. Sometimes you can get out and walk a yak through very thin water in the downstream direction. I haven't been there with the latest lower flows. For the section from the dam to first portage falls, maybe 4 short sections and 1 section of 100 yards or so by estimate.

You might look at timely satellite maps to get an idea regards draggin. Maybe someone on the list can post a link...
