So I'm selling my F250 and looking to get a used smaller truck or SUV with great gas mileage and resale value that can easily carry my fishing kayak. Not looking to get a kayak kart.
Suggestions?

Any small truck with a rack in the bed.

Tacoma or Colorado. Colorado gets better mileage.

I've got a Tacoma and haul a 12' Ascend usually flat. No extension. Only about 3' overhang on tail gate. Have a rack that I carry 2 kayaks on. Both are 12'. They ride on their sides. But the one thing I wish I had now is a 4 wheel drive. Screw the mileage.

Toyota Tacoma if you want a pickup or the 4Runner if you want an SUV. Both retain great resale value because they’re such great vehicles. Both have good ground clearance and you can get both in 4x4 with rear differential locker so you’ll be able to every beach Texas has to offer. Wanna take a trip down PINS? No problem with either of these. Toyota makes some of the best vehicles for off-road adventures.
