Warthog & Sparrow

Post by skypilot »

On Memorial Day weekend, who do you suppose paddled to my spot on the San Marcos River? Warthog and Sparrow, AKA the Big Bass Brothers, were checking out a place to pitch a tent for an overnight trip.

It is always good to see folks who love the river, out and enjoying it.

There were some bass and sunfish willing to hit the fly, but the river still has not bounced back fully from three devastating floods in the past three years.

Let's go fishing

Ninety nine percent of geology happens in one percent of the time so saith a wise professor once. Still a pretty river. Nice looking fish.

Hey look what I found! Haha Was giving my two cents on a thread soliciting fly reel suggestions, and came across your memorial day post. Warthog and I had a really nice camping night on a shelf on the left just below the falls. We managed a nice channel cat on stinkbait for dinner, and even got a 20" largie on cut bait of all things. It was cool bumping into you on "the Skypilot stretch" we call it. Cya next time!
