I am fairly new to btb, have made a few trips out to bobhall rig. This year I plan on going every chance I get
Ocean kayak prowler 13
Carbon fiber paddle
Penn fierce and kast king reels
Standard gaff
Bat
Will be purchasing a fish bag along with a larger open face real and rod. Going to install a rudder on my yak and hopefully a depth finder. I am off on Mondays and Tuesdays which makes it a little tough to find ppl to paddle out with.

Where are you two located? Corpus and Houston?

Hopefully the weather/swells calms down to do some trips soon.

I live in corpus on the island. If this weather keeps up the season should be here by the end of the month if not sooner. Beach temps are already up to 66 degrees.

Because he's a quitter who decided to chase ditch pickles which he secretly knows that his Cuda is best suited for..

Meh not really. Sometime in 2014(?) it turned into more babysitting newbies than enjoying a day with the homies. I'll still do the occasional trip with the OG's have a secret BTB trip going on, but thats once in a blue moon now. I've caught my fair share of fish out there. After a while you realize that a "ok" "doable" day BTB is an exceptionally glassy day inshore. I'd just rather spend less of an effort inshore pitching baits to bull reds and hooking big trout than paddling 10+miles for a few kings and Jacks that I don't keep.
