I think we're around 30 right now, but you know how it is. Most people will wait until it gets a little closer before signing up. That's always been the norm at least.

with all this rain I'm sure everybody is looking at Google maps trying to figure out where they're going to fish this coming Saturday, I know I am my A,B & C spots are all washed out over here in the Sabine Pass area typical April tournament close your eyes and pick a spot, hope for a couple fish

Yep, going to scatter some fish all over creation. Tides have been 3 feet above predicted. If I were fishing in the tournament tomorrow or the next day, I'd find some shell. Things might get more normal by the weekend.

The whole catfish in a redfish spot definitely sucks! I'm looking forward to the weigh-in anyway though. Plus this Saturday will be the maiden voyage for my new kayak. I'll mentally prepare myself ahead of time that I probably won't catch much...but I agree, it'll still be fun.

I think, if memory serves, the April event has had weather/conditions issues and not a lot of folks showed up with 2 slot reds. Seems like one year, the tide was out and low and the fish were stacked in the drains. You just never know. Don't make your plan too early. Every day, conditions change.

4th place stringer and I won the black jack in April of 2012

Both fish were under 21"

30 mph wind outta the northwest started about midnight the night before and drained the bays and marshes
