Fixed and added some places to the map

I find that this map can be a great resource for all of us. The fact that anyone can edit it is both a blessing and a curse. When viewing/editing, please be careful. Here is the most up to date link:

This is a great map and idea. Anyone that has an Iphone or Android phone you need to download an app called Launch Points. It is from Austin Canoe and Kayak. It is a free app. You can search launch points near you or in another area. You can post pictures, submit launch points, rate it, review it, etc. I am in no way affiliated with ACK or the app...just something I use and really like. Just passing along the info.

Here is the link if anyone is interested. http://www.austinkayak.com/app" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;

Someone should add johnsons ranch in uncertain, tx. Paddle south from the launch($5 per vehicle) and follow the cypress trees as far as you want to go!

We stayed in between the bank and the channel markers because there were quite a few boats out. Majority of the boaters were respectful to us in kayaks and would slow down before passing.

I have a question for daveg99 that posted Pappy Elkins lake in Arlington, TX. I live about a mile from this lake and have heard that it was no longer worth fishing? At one time it was stocked with huge LMB from Lake Fork by a few locals that had it deemed "Catch and Release Only", and I heard of people catching 5-8 lbs bass. The CAR was lifted by the city and the "out of towners" fished it dry. I'm curious to hear of anyone with experience at this lake/pond. It's pretty remote, so I'm surprised to see it on the map.

Also, I'm new to fishing Lake Arlington, but it has skunked me the last 2 times out on plastic. What are people catching on out there? I don't see a lot of fisherman out there (Maybe they've been skunked too many times). I would ALSO love to hear of anyone fishing the part of the Trinity these day. Most people are appalled that I would even consider floating it.

Any help is appreciated! Thanks for the map!

If you have a spot that you'd like to add to the map, anywhere in Texas or anywhere else, find the location in Google Maps, then click on the "Link" button at the top right of the map. In the popup that appears, click where it says "Paste link in email or IM" and copy the link. Paste it into a PM to me and I'll get them on the map.

If you want a spot posted, I need the location information per the instructions above. If I have to go searching for the location, or if the information is too general (i.e. Brazos River) it's not going to get posted.

Here are two Launch sites for Lake Paloma in the woodlands

This is a small Lake and only has access with Kayaks, there are no Motor boats allowed as far as i know. Great little lake you could cover in the morning or afternoon. Stocked with LMB and Bream catching on Black worm or Junebug color jigging off the bottom near any structure.

Nice share! I can't wait to get my kayaks wet in Austin. The wife and I just moved into to town from Sacramento CA and so far we are loving it!

Can't wait to meet new fishing buddies!

Hey guys,

New guy here. I dont see any pins at Joe Pool lake. A couple boat ramps to launch from. The bank across the jetty on S. Spine and W. Beltline has some tall grass with coves and some downed trees in the water. Ive pulled in some nice bass here including this weekend (3/1) before the weather dropped. Also you can get into the Marina on Spine by the main entrance.

I think someone put the coords for this one in wrong....

Brazos Below Whitney
Some of the clearest water Ive seen on the brazos is right here. the fishing is great down here but you have to be careful with the sporadic water release from the dam. Use Dicks canoes for the shuttle service 8 miles down stream.

It's sitting down in Houston off highway 69 near Lake Houston.

Should probably be closer to 31.866081, -97.367703
